Spring is in the air as another month in 2016 passes by. I’ve got a few empties from March 2016 to talk about, and although there aren’t many, there’s a couple of them that I’m really proud of! If you want to know what my thoughts were on this round of empties, please keep reading.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution
I bought this product almost 2 years ago when I started watching beauty-related YouTube videos. At that time, pretty much every YouTuber I was watching was raving excessively about this product. I was also really into finding the right skincare products, so I decided to give it a try. It’s given this description on the Bioderma website:
Sensibio H2O is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin: its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes and naturally help rebuild the skin’s hydrolipidic film.
I never tried a micellar solution to remove my makeup before getting this product, so I didn’t know what to expect. Surprisingly, it did a really great job removing most of my makeup with the exception of waterproof mascara. It is very gentle and it doesn’t leave a film on the skin that some other cleansers do. My skin didn’t feel dry or dehydrated after I cleansed my skin with it, which was a huge plus. I took this product with me whenever I travelled (obviously putting it in smaller bottles) since it’s so convenient and effective whenever I didn’t have access to a sink and some face wash. Overall I think it’s a great cleanser, and I did end up repurchasing it.
Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Tulip
Lip balms are an absolute necessity for me. I always need at least one on me, and I especially love tinted ones. But this one is clearly very special for a couple of reasons: the first being that I actually finished it, and the second being that I finished it in a little over a year. I think that’s a personal record, and it just speaks to how much I loved this product. It’s different from traditional balms since it isn’t stiff like waxy balms and it also isn’t greasy like petroleum-based lip balms. It moisturizes my lips very well without the stickiness and leaves them feeling soft and supple, and I love the sheer pink tint that the Tulip shade gives. I also love the smell, which is a light citrus scent.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper
I bought this product thinking that it had the potential to be a dupe of Benefit’s Gimme Brow. It’s a tinted brow gel with little fibres to thicken brow hairs, which is essentially the same concept as Gimme Brow, but at half the price and with much more product. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, they fell short. It’s not like I absolutely hated the product, I mean, I did finish it, however the brush just didn’t cut it for me. I felt that it was too big to control, and I also felt that it deposited too much product on the brows which made them look clumpy at times. I think it might be time for me to just suck it up and spend the $30 on Gimme Brow since it’s clearly irreplaceable.
