NARS is undoubtedly one of my favourite brands. Their products are some of my most loved items in my entire collection, so when they sent me a couple of items from their Spring 2016 collection, you can just imagine how excited I was! I was sent two products from the collection: the Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in ‘Cressida’, and a lipstick in the shade ‘Rosecliff’. If you would like to know my thoughts on these products, please keep reading.
NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow in ‘Cressida’
Cressida is described as a ‘shimmering midnight blue’ on the NARS website. This is the first shadow from the Dual Intensity line that I’ve tried, so I didn’t really know what to expect. According to the product description given from the NARS website, it’s supposed to go on sheer if used dry, but shows up very intensely if used wet. It is quite sheer if used on its own, but I found that it looked really great when using a black base underneath even without wetting the product. I did find that it took a few tries to get the colour pay-off I wanted, but it blended well with other shadows to create a simple smokey eye. Overall, I really liked this shadow because of its gorgeous metallic navy shade, however they are quite pricey and it does take a little more effort for the true colour to come through.
NARS Satin Lipstick in ‘Rosecliff’
Rosecliff is described as a ‘soft rose’ shade. I’ll be honest; I was a little apprehensive about trying this shade upon receiving it, however I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked with my skin tone. I would like to mention, however, that I did have to pair it with a warmer lip liner (MAC – Spice), but I actually really like the shade. It leans more neutral, and I believe that this would be a lovely MLBB shade for individuals who fall within the light-medium skin tone range. The formula of the lipstick was quite nice as well. It is very creamy, moisturizing, and comfortable to wear. I did notice that it didn’t apply very opaque and that it did require some building up, however I find that other lipsticks with a satin formula by NARS are similar to that respect. I happened to like how it applied more sheer rather than overly pigmented because that’s usually how I end up with frosting lips while wearing nude shades.
Have you tried any of the products from the NARS Spring 2016 collection?
What are your thoughts?
Disclosure: As I mentioned above, I did not buy these products myself. They were sent to me by NARS as a kind ‘thank you’. I was not required to review these products, but I decided to share my thoughts anyway.
