Bronzers are some of my favourite items in my makeup collection. I can make my face go from 0 to 100 just by dusting some on, making me look alive and well. I’ve accumulated quite a few over the years in varying finishes and shades, but that’s just because a girl’s gotta have options. If you would like to see which bronzers I have in my arsenal, please keep reading.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Hoola is a cult favourite, and I can see why. It’s a very soft and finely milled powder which gives a natural bronzing effect. When I swatched it, the powder felt very buttery and smooth. It isn’t too warm, but I’ve heard that it can look slightly orange for individuals with a cooler undertone.
I received this as a deluxe sample size from Sephora, and I’m glad I didn’t pay for it because it barely shows on my skin. I had to swatch it very heavily for the pictures. For individuals with lighter skin, this would be a wonderful matte bronzer. If your skin is any deeper than NC35-40, I wouldn’t bother with this.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish – Gold Deposit
I’ve mentioned this in my “Highlighter Collection” post about a year ago (which desperately needs an update). Depending on your skin tone, this could either work better as a highlighter or a bronzer. As of right now, this works as a bronzer for me. It is has a very warm golden tone to it, and it is very glittery and sparkly. I have to use this very sparingly because of how crazy it can look. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very beautiful product, but it definitely isn’t one to use on a daily basis.
Hourglass Ambient Bronzer – Radiant Bronze
This bronzer is one that I mainly use to warm up my skin to make sure either my face matches my neck or vice versa. I wish I bought Luminous Bronze instead because this one is extremely warm and orangey. The texture of the bronzer itself is very nice. It’s soft, blendable, and very silky. It has a slight amount of shimmer in it which looks very flattering, but unfortunately it’s just a little too warm for my liking. It’s also very important not to go too heavy handed with this bronzer because it is quite pigmented.
Too Faced Sun Bunny
This one is also a deluxe sample, and I really enjoy it. The shade itself isn’t very prominent on me, but it is quite shimmery. I use it sparingly on my face and I find that it gives me a very beautiful glow. It comes split with one half being a slightly cool bronze shade, while the other half is much more shimmery taupe shade.
The Balm Betty Lou Manizer
I would classify this more as a highlighter rather than a bronzer simply because of how shimmery it is. However, I do like to use it very sparingly because it gives my skin a very lovely golden look. The formula of this product is wonderful – very smooth and almost creamy. The pan is also quite large and it is fairly inexpensive, so it’s a great bang for your buck.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick – Bronze
I bought the mini version of this because I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to commit to the larger size. In all honesty, I’m glad I did because this product isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. It isn’t very pigmented, it feels quite is dry and almost gritty. It’s very shimmery and once all the shades are mixed together, the shade isn’t very flattering on my warm skin. Overall, not a huge fan of this one.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish – Give Me Sun!
This is definitely one of my favourite bronzers. It looks very natural on the skin while giving it the loveliest hint of warmth. It isn’t too pigmented which is great for days where you just can’t be bothered with avoiding going too heavy-handed with products. The formula is very silky and smooth, and it has a very subtle sheen that gives a touch of luminosity.
As great as this bronzer is, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who is lighter than NC30. I also wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who has cooler undertones simply because it will end up looking very orange.
NARS Bronzer – Laguna
This bronzer ended up being an unexpected hit for me. I didn’t think that Laguna would even show up on my skin since many fairer-skinned bloggers constantly rave about it, but lo and behold, it works on me and looks great! It isn’t extremely pigmented and it leans slightly cool-toned, which is why I love using it for everyday looks. It has a very small amount of shimmer in it; almost negligible. I can understand why it’s a cult classic – it’s just an overall beautiful bronzer.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil
I’ve mentioned this bronzer countless times on my blog and I will continue to do so. It’s such a lovely matte bronzer for people who don’t want to look glowy, but rather more defined and chiseled without having to contour. The formula is very soft, pigmented, and smells absolutely divine. It is quite cool-toned so it can be used as a contour, however I like how it still is warm enough to bronze the face if needed.
e.l.f. Bronzer Palette
This product is definitely one of the best drugstore bronzers currently on the market. Unfortunately, it is not widely available in Canadian drugstores, however if you can ever get your hands on it, I highly suggest doing so. It comes with four shades, all of which are very pigmented, smooth, buttery, and blendable. The shades range from warm with shimmery finishes to cool with matte finishes. I didn’t have very high hopes in this palette when I bought it, but it completely blew me away. The quality is amazing, especially considering that it is only $6 CAD!
Soleil Tan de Chanel – #63 Terre Ambre
This is one of the oldest products I have in my collection, but it is one that I hold near and dear. My sister got it for me as a Christmas present years ago, and it was, and still remains, one of my favourite bronzers ever. I felt that it truly transformed my face whenever I put it on. It gave me just the right amount of definition in my cheekbones and the perimeters of my face, making me feel fierce AF whenever I had it on. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued, but trust me when I say that you’re going to have to pry it from my cold, dead hands if I ever have to let go of this bad boy.

That’s it for my current bronzer collection. As you can see, I’m not a very hard person to please when it comes to bronzers. You can count on this collection growing much bigger as time goes on.
