As we close on a lovely summer, I’m welcoming fall with open arms. Unsurprisingly, October snuck up on me and now I bring my (very late) September 2016 Empties. I’ve only got a few here, however I couldn’t ask for better timing to finish up these products while we transition into the cooler temperatures. If you’d like to learn more about my September 2016 Empties, please keep reading.
Coola Mineral Face SPF 30 Matte Tint Sunscreen
This is the only sunscreen I know of that is matte, tinted, has a relatively high SPF, and is completely mineral based. It’s also an added bonus that I can buy it easily in Canada without breaking the bank. I really enjoy this sunscreen and will continue to repurchase it for the warmer months. It has a silicone texture so it glides onto the skin very easily, and it does a great job of mattifying. I also like how the tint prevents the white-cast that mineral sunscreens are infamous for. It does a great job of protecting my photosensitive skin, it’s easy to get, and it makes your skin looks nice too. Overall a great product and would highly recommend!
Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream
When I initially bought this product, I loved it. I really enjoyed how it felt on my skin because it’s very refreshing and a pleasure to apply. I also really enjoyed the scent since it smells like real roses. However, as I continued to use it, I realized that my face would be unusually sticky and very shiny on areas that don’t usually get like that in the heat. I figured it was because of its gel-like formula, and since it is quite hydrating, it may have been a little too heavy for my skin. I’m on the fence about whether or not I’ll repurchase it again next year. On one hand, it didn’t break my skin out and has a lovely texture. However, it is quite expensive for what it is and I really don’t enjoy the stickiness.
Benefit Gimme Brow
I love this product. It does exactly what I need it to do with minimal amount of effort. I love the tiny little brush, the little fibres in the brow gel itself to make my brows look much more volumized, and I think the shade is great. However, I do not love the price. It’s so expensive, especially for hardly any product. I had such a hard time finding a dupe that was even remotely close, so I think I just have to suck it up and shell out the $30 once again. If any of my readers know of some good dupes, please let me know!
Did you have any empties from September 2016?
Have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned?
I think the l’oreal brow mascara (the tinted ones with fibers) and the essence make me brow (it looks a lot like the gimme brow actually and has fibers) are both really good dupes for the gimme brow if you can find a shade that suits you!

Thank you for the suggestions! I’m currently trying out the Essence Make me Brow and so far I’m liking it! The applicator isn’t quite what as good as the Benefit Gimme Brow’s, but for the price I’m 100% willing to look past it 🙂
