My last “all the ____’s I own” post seemed to garner some interest, so I decided that I’d keep it going. This time, it is with my lovely collection of blushes. I knew that I probably had too many, but I didn’t realize just how much I had, and how similar a lot of them looked! Just goes to show that the “gotta catch ’em all” mindset is not necessary. Please read on if you’d like to see my world of blushes…
Based on this little project, it’s safe to say that my preference in blushes lean towards the ones made by NARS and MAC. Both brands have a wide selection of blushes in different textures, finishes, and of course, several different shades. I also do have a few of the NARS blush palettes so that can partly explain why I have so many of them.
It also seems that I prefer warm, nude-ish shades over more colourful, vibrant shades. Over the years, my blush “style” changed significantly, and while I do enjoy wearing a brighter shade every once in a while, I find the warm, nude tones are more flattering for every day, especially during the week. I also prefer matte blushes because I have a combination/oily skin type, and I tend to put blush all over my face. With that said, I love a good glittery blush; sometimes I really dig the stripper vibe it gives..I don’t care what anyone says! It looks great!
So there you have it, my not-so-little collection of powder blushes. I do have a few cream blushes as well, but I don’t use those as often as my powder ones. It might sound crazy, but even after seeing all the redundant shades, I can still think of a few more that I’d like to buy. Do I need them? Absolutely not. But the slight differences that only I can detect gives me some sort of satisfaction, and that’s all that matters, right?!?!
I’d love to know about other blush favourites, so please leave a comment below if you have any to share!
