Best Makeup Products of 2017

Is it just me, or does it really feel like the years just blow by the older we get? Seriously, 2017 came and went in, what felt like, a blink of an eye! I’m disappointed in how sporadically I posted throughout the year, and I truly apologize for my lack of activity on this blog. Even though it may not have seemed like it based on what I’ve shared, this year has been incredible. I had so many life changes happening, and while I don’t regret anything, I wish I was able to document it a little more with you guys. I want to commit to being a better blogger in 2018 and actually review more of what I’ve acquired, so please stay tuned for (hopefully) much more content in the new year.

To close this year off, I’m going to stick to a common tradition here in the beauty community by listing off my favourite products of 2017. Even though I got my hands on so many different products, there were a few products that really were my main squeezes throughout the year. These products were my fool-proof, go-to #1’s – and I’m almost certain that many of these also made it onto other people’s favourite lists for the year as well. If you’d like to know why I thought these products made it to my top list of the year, please keep reading!

Pan 17 in 2017 | Update #1

I can’t believe it’s already time for my first Project Pan update! I have to say, this experiment has been a little more difficult than I thought it would be, but I think I definitely made some great progress! I finished up/hit pan on many items on my list, so I’d say this first quarter has been quite successful. I’m having a bit of a hard time getting through some products, but I’m just trying to stay optimistic. This post is going to be long enough, so I’ll cut the rambling and just get on with it!

VIDEO: Updated Every Day Makeup Routine

After a long hiatus, I finally recorded an updated every day makeup routine video! A lot of these products are part of my Project Pan for 2017, so I figured it would be a great idea to showcase exactly how I’m using some of them. I’ll be honest, it’s a lot of makeup for every day! However I’m trying really hard to get through some of these products. I hope you guys enjoy! Please keep reading if you’re interested in the Product List.

Pan 17 in 2017 | Project Pan Intro

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had some wonderful celebrations this past weekend. Just like many other people around the world, I decided that now is a better time than ever to get myself started on something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time: finish some old products. I got way too caught up in trying out so many different things over the years, which I don’t entirely regret doing, however doing so made me lose sight of what my original wants and needs were when I first decided to build up my collection. I actually want to enjoy the stuff that I have, and in order to do that, I need to make an effort to use them on a regular basis.

So how am I going to do this? Enter: Project Pan. Project Pan is essentially a project to use up products in my makeup collection. The goal of my specific project is to “pan” (i.e. to literally see the bottom of the pan or finish up) 17 products by the end of 2017. It also helps to track progress in order to stay motivated. If a product is finished before the end of the year, it is replaced with another product from my collection which I would like to use up.

Sounds simple enough, right? For me, it will definitely be a challenge because I need variety in my routine, otherwise I’ll go crazy. I’m going to try very hard to use the products I’ve chosen to pan, however if I’m really bored, I’m not going to deny myself of using another product. My makeup, after all, is supposed to make me feel happy. There’s no point in making this a miserable journey – I just want the satisfaction of actually using things up and knowing that I got my money’s worth.

If you’d like to learn more about the 17 products I’ll be panning in 2017, please keep reading.
