Well, I’ll cut right to the chase: it has been almost 2 years since my last blog post! What happened? Life. Life happened. Maybe someday I will get into what has been going on in the last 24 months (all good things, for the most part!), but today I will say goodbye to 2019, and the 10s with a short and sweet post.
Even though some time has passed, I was, and remain, a makeup obsessed person. So naturally I collected a small heap of products, with a few thoughts and opinions to go with them as well. To start, I’d like to share something I usually find very useful: swatches. Today, it will be swatches of all the foundations I currently own. I’m hoping that this will be of help to anyone who shares a similar skin tone to me.
I can’t believe it’s already time for my first Project Pan update! I have to say, this experiment has been a little more difficult than I thought it would be, but I think I definitely made some great progress! I finished up/hit pan on many items on my list, so I’d say this first quarter has been quite successful. I’m having a bit of a hard time getting through some products, but I’m just trying to stay optimistic. This post is going to be long enough, so I’ll cut the rambling and just get on with it!
I’m happy to say that I’m starting off my first “empties” post of 2017 with a bang. I used up several skincare and makeup items which I’ve been dying to part with for some time now. Unfortunately, using up a good chunk of my skincare products in the dead of winter hasn’t been ideal, but that just gives me an excuse to try some other new and exciting things. If you’d like to learn more about the products I finished this past month, please keep reading!
Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had some wonderful celebrations this past weekend. Just like many other people around the world, I decided that now is a better time than ever to get myself started on something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time: finish some old products. I got way too caught up in trying out so many different things over the years, which I don’t entirely regret doing, however doing so made me lose sight of what my original wants and needs were when I first decided to build up my collection. I actually want to enjoy the stuff that I have, and in order to do that, I need to make an effort to use them on a regular basis.
So how am I going to do this? Enter: Project Pan. Project Pan is essentially a project to use up products in my makeup collection. The goal of my specific project is to “pan” (i.e. to literally see the bottom of the pan or finish up) 17 products by the end of 2017. It also helps to track progress in order to stay motivated. If a product is finished before the end of the year, it is replaced with another product from my collection which I would like to use up.
Sounds simple enough, right? For me, it will definitely be a challenge because I need variety in my routine, otherwise I’ll go crazy. I’m going to try very hard to use the products I’ve chosen to pan, however if I’m really bored, I’m not going to deny myself of using another product. My makeup, after all, is supposed to make me feel happy. There’s no point in making this a miserable journey – I just want the satisfaction of actually using things up and knowing that I got my money’s worth.
